HC tested the Garmin Heart Rate Monitor, Speed & Distance Watch and love it !

Morning 9am. HC received his new Garmin heart rate monitor, speed & distance watch from SH who help hand-carried back to Singapore. It looks pretty cool and much better than HC has expected.
Afternoon 5pm. HC went to jog around the 5km Neram Crescent route. But with the new Garmin heart rate monitor watch, he was able to complete 8km and still feeling fairly comfortable. He was monitoring and trying to keep the running speed between 9km/h to 10km/h and to keep heart rate between 80% to 85% of maximum heart rate. HC completed a 8km run in 44m & 52s. Including the cooling down run of 1.6km, covered a total distance of 9.6km in about 1 hour.

First time using this gadget and he loves it. The watch automatically transfered the data wirelessly to the PC. The free software display the table and graph immediately. Very easy to use. HC was so excited by it. The table displayed Total Distance, Total Time, Average Pace (min/km), Average Speed (km/h), Max Speed, Total Calories, Average Heart Rate, Maximum Heart Rate and Average Cadence (rpm).

The graph function can display 4 sets of parameter at the same time. In the chart shown here, it showed Heart Rate on the right axis. On the left axis it showed the % of Max Heart Rate and Speed. You can select any of the data sets to display. Really cool...... Cost US$138 through internet order as compare to S$400 if purchase locally in Singapore. Strongly recommended for serious runners.
